Job Title

Sets up and operates a variety of automatic and semi-automatic machines including robotic assembly equipment used in the production of the company's product. Responsible for the overall operation of large-scale processing machinery including actions such as feeding materials for processing, adjusting settings, performing minor repairs, and pulling finished product from the line, review documentation, alert supervisor of any potential process deviation. Works from process sheets and written/verbal instructions given by supervisor to perform production tasks. Checks and inspects operation results against predetermined tolerances.

This position requires knowledge that is acquired through experience, specialized education or training. The role has clearly defined procedures and tasks as well as defined guidelines to aid in decision making. The tasks are complex in nature. The job is expected to follow detailed and defined rules / instructions and to make complex judgement in straightforward situations. Typically requires selecting between new solutions and/or already established.

It will be required to work in hot, humid, and hazardous areas and pass the initial and subsequent medical surveillance (total blood cell counts, pulmonary functional test, Chest X Rays) and require wearing respiratory protection (SCBA).

The job requires a good understanding of work routines and procedures in own discipline. The technical procedures for this level are well defined and need to meet internal policies and external standards (ISO 11135). The job works within defined procedures that may involve a variety of normal and complex work routines. This job typically requires a minimum of 2 or more years' experience handling computer platforms.

Responsibilities and Functions:

  • Flexibility for shift rotation (Day/night)
  • Prepare product for processing in cold storage. Remove positive indicator according to customer batches.
  • Assist the technician with process monitoring.
  • Remove product after processing and place it for aeration. Once aeration is complete, deliver it to the warehouse.
  • Review material and notify the supervisor of any anomalies.
  • Store product using a forklift in designated areas.
  • Enter data into SAP.
  • Notify the Operations and Quality Supervisor of the quantity of damaged product found before placing it in cold storage.
  • Inspect product stacks before moving them to any subsequent process.
  • Maintain the order and cleanliness of the plant and forklifts (6s).
  • Sample the processed product and coordinate follow-up on sample delivery to the laboratory.
  • Move product safely and without damage at each stage of the process.
  • Perform a general forklift inspection at the beginning of the shift.
  • Clean all areas that remain dirty immediately after the process.
  • Support all assigned activities.
  • Place and remove IBs from the product.
  • Set up and clean the ETO tank area.
  • Actively participate in all requested EH&S activities applicable to your position.
  • Support activities requested by the Operations and Management Supervisor.
  • Participate as a staff trainer or in monthly training sessions.
  • Coordinate the reception of Ethylene Oxide tanks with the technician.
  • Coordinate maneuvering support for external personnel.
  • Schedule process times and schedule activities with the Supervisor at the beginning of the shift.
  • Change forklift batteries.

Periodic Responsibilities:

• Receive product for processing, in accordance with customer documents.

Sporadic Responsibilities:

• Deliver processed product to the customer, checking that it has the corresponding identification and batch. Verify the quantity and physical condition of the product to be shipped according to the information on the outbound document.

• Participate in the physical inventory of product for customers.

• Recondition damaged product.

• Provide support in conducting the semiannual physical inventory.

• Participate in plant painting and maintenance.

• Service forklifts.

• Be part of the fire brigade and take the corresponding courses.

• Support maintenance work.

Educational Level and Special Training Required:

• High school completed at least

Work Experience Required:

  • Minimum 6 months of experience in forklift handling, stowage, and material counting.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Practical attitude
  • Sense of urgency to fix problems or repairs
  • Attitude and initiative to participate in activities of loading, unloading of products to the production system.
  • Equipment troubleshooting

Physical Requirements:

  • Pass initial and subsequent annual medical surveillance exams (blood work, Xray's, Spirometry test)
  • Ability to use SCBA respirator.
  • Teamwork oriented, and high resistance to stress.
  • Able to lift to 25 pounds.
  • It is require working in extreme adverse conditions (hot, humid, hazardous).
  • On-call for weekend or night shift.
