Supports the Cardiovascular Service Line Departments (CVSL) and SVH by participating in various clinical data collection initiatives related to performance improvement, CMS mandatory reporting and CVSL operations. The incumbent exercises a broad clinical knowledge of the cardiovascular field in performance of duties. Serves as registry site manager / site coordinator for one or more national database initiatives and reports outcomes as directed.
Education Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED Preferred
Experience Qualifications:
- 5 years Applicable experience. Required
- Prior experience in the cardiovascular or general healthcare arena. Preferred
What You Will Do:
- Serves as site coordinator for one or more of the following national cardiovascular database initiatives: • American College of Cardiology National Cardiovascular Data Registry (NCDR): Chest Pain – MI registry (AMI) ICD registry CATH / PCI registry TVT registry LAAO registry • AHA "Get With The Guidelines" Registries: Atrial Fibrillation Heart Failure • CARES registry
- Collects and reports data for sudden cardiac death (SCD) / defibrillator initiative.
- Obtains listing of patients for database entry, reviews charts and performs electronic upload of data. Performs download of national reports and site-specific outcomes. Prepares and distributes reports as directed utilizing various software presentation tools.
- Coordinates with other CV Representatives and CV Programs Manager to insure consistency between databases, to the extent that definition and exclusion variations allow.
- Performs data collection, analysis and presentation, as directed, on various performance improvement activities within the CVSL.
- Serves as a resource person in the development, maintenance and troubleshooting of assigned database initiatives.
- Educates physicians and other staff on current and updated database definitions.
- Performs analysis of "outliers" as directed.
- Submits OPPE data as assigned.
- Attends clinical meetings as directed.
- Participates in regular phone conferences (RSM calls) to keep up-to-date registry items.
- Updates CVSL dashboard for assigned database functions.
- Supports respective managers for designated program development and certification / accreditation responsibilities.
