Analytics Engineering Lead

This role is key to advancing data democratisation and driving business value across Storio. You will bridge our Data and Business functions by creating high-quality, reliable, and accessible data models. You will be a hybrid contributor, delivering on complex technical projects while also leading the Analytics Engineering sub-team, managing two direct reports, and owning stakeholder engagement. Your success is the business's success.

• You act as the technical point of escalation and provide guidance to junior team members.
• You translate complex business needs into clear technical requirements for the team.
• You own the semantic data layer, documenting data to enable business users to self-serve.
• You partner with analytics and business teams to understand use cases and gather requirements.
• You guide and provide technical expertise to more junior team members, nurturing their growth.
• You ensure data is clean, accurate, and accessible for critical business decision-making.
• You collaborate with teams across the data ecosystem, including Data Engineers and Data Scientists.

• You lead the operational planning and goal-setting for the Analytics Engineering sub-team.
• You deliver business value by making step-change improvements to data models and pipelines.
• You ensure intuitive, high-performing, and scalable self-service analytics capabilities.
• You influence the team's technical direction through clear communication and a focus on improvement.
• You own the process of engaging with stakeholders to prioritize the team's work and deliverables.
• You foster data discovery and strengthen data knowledge by writing effective documentation.
• You set the standards for technical health and continuous improvement, including cost efficiency and quality.

What You Bring To The Team

• Five plus years of experience in Analytics, Data Science, or a business-focused role with a strong technical flavor.
• Proven experience driving business impact by delivering data for BI, Analytics, and Data Science.
• Expert proficiency in SQL and Python programming skills.
• Strong blended skill set of business acumen, technical depth, and excellent communication.
• Proficiency in designing, implementing, and optimizing data models with strong data governance.
• Proven expertise with modern data stack tools like Snowflake, DBT, Fivetran, or Looker.
• Experience in managing the semantic layer and standardizing metrics and dimensions.

What Sets You Apart

• Experience with data types typical of a modern e-commerce company, such as order or clickstream data.
• Experience working with manufacturing operations data.
• Experience with digital ad platform data (Google, Meta, etc).
