Area Senior Sales Manager
The Area Senior Sales Manager is responsible for increasing hotel revenues by securing business from third-party planners, corporate accounts, and other markets. This role involves implementing sales strategies, building client relationships, and promoting the hotel through personal sales calls and marketing efforts to achieve revenue goals.
Essential Functions and Duties:
- Provide professional and courteous customer service at all times.
- Demonstrate brand knowledge of Hyatt, Marriott, Starwood, Hilton, and IHG.
- Leverage pre-opening experience to support sales efforts.
- Conduct personal sales calls to generate new business and maintain client relationships.
- Implement approved sales and action plans to meet revenue targets.
- Identify and develop potential markets for the hotel through research and outreach.
- Create and execute innovative sales and marketing techniques to increase hotel revenue.
- Distribute in-house advertising and promotional campaigns to target key markets.
- Maintain competitive analysis and track statistical information to inform sales strategies.
- Foster relationships with local civic groups, associations, and in-house meeting planners to generate repeat business.
- Attend weekly sales and staff meetings to stay aligned with hotel goals.
- Complete weekly and monthly reports, including business plans, action plans, and corporate reports.

Required Experience, Education, and Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in sales, with a background in hospitality or convention center operations preferred.
- Strong knowledge of major hotel brands such as Hyatt, Marriott, Starwood, Hilton, and IHG.
- Pre-opening experience is required.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills for interacting with clients and team members.
- Proven ability to develop and execute sales and marketing strategies to meet revenue goals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems for managing accounts and generating reports.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage time and sales activities effectively.
Work Environment:
- Primarily indoor office work, with occasional travel for sales calls and events.
- Frequent interaction with clients, team members, and local organizations, requiring flexibility in communication and scheduling.
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet business and client demands.
