Broker Dealer Business Specialist
Looking for a professional who understands the entire Broker dealer business flow starting from trade processing, settlements and reconciliations for in-scope of equities, Fixed Income and Treasury products.
The team you will be joining is a part of State Street Global Markets, one of the biggest asset managers in the world, that provides services to the world's governments, institutions and financial advisors. The team has the responsibility to manage both client and brokers trade allocations, trade processing and settlements in a timely manner.
What you will be responsible for:
- Management of transactions/trades between State Street and the various Brokers/Client. Ensuring all trades/trade instructions are settled/cancelled, and fix any breaks that occur between SS and Brokers.
- Understanding and knowledge of complete Trade Life Cycle and various Market Systems (DTC/BONY/EUROCLEAR/BLOOMBERG).
- Assist in driving various firm and team initiatives including Operational Efficiencies and Controls, improving the risk and control environment and maintaining procedures.
- Monitoring various queues and remediation of short position to ensure trade instructions reach market on time.
- Communicate with Trading Desk, Borrowers, Counter parties to remediate issues.
- Dilently follow and maintain SOP's.
- Candidate should have good MS Excel skills.
- Coordinate settlements for institutional clients for both international equity and fixed income transaction products.
- Promotes, creates and implements policies and procedures.
- Coordinate resolution of trade settlement discrepancies with counterparties.
- Manage TMPG claim resolution with executing brokers.
- Manage aged fails, update status reports based on correspondence with counterparties.
- Work with trade processing/settlements to correct trade records as needed to mitigate failed trades.
- Reconcile daily activity within firm accounts.
- Contributes to Operations strategy and product development for the group.
- Interfaces with technology and product development to ensure future system changes/enhancements are fully tested and documented.
- Very good understanding of financial market activities and transactions.
- Very strong problem solving, customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
- Creating and analyzing new methods to proactively identify discrepancies in data.
- Serves as an expert resource on operational needs for the group.
- Interfaces with traders, Compliance, Operations and other areas within SSGM to ensure efficient business flows and controls exist for the group.
- Escalation point for resolution of queries from external and internal groups for your department.
- Business continuity responsibility for the group – oversees offsite testing and updates to BCP plans and procedures.
- Participates in internal committees or industry groups to promote operational efficiencies and enhance knowledge.
- Leverages/promotes use of technology to achieve operational efficiencies, mitigate operational risks, and reduce operating costs.
- Works with management to ensure favorable audit ratings.

Education & Preferred Qualifications:
- University degree in Business majoring in Accounting, Finance, or other Financial-related programs.
- Overall experience of 3+ years in the finance industry, familiarity with securities operations preferable securities lending activities.

- Intermediate, demonstrable knowledge of Microsoft Office suit.
