Databricks Data Engineering & Analytics Intern

What You Will Do:

In this role, you will perform the following day-to-day activities:

• Assist in developing and maintaining data pipelines using Databricks and Datastage, leveraging Python and SQL for data manipulation, transformation, and querying.
• Support the implementation of medallion architecture (bronze, silver, gold layers) for audit analytics use cases, and participate in data modeling, transformation, and enrichment tasks.
• Assist in integrating REST APIs for data ingestion and external system connectivity, with experience in automation and workflow orchestration using tools like Apache Airflow or Azure Data Factory.
• Work with Databricks Apps and Serverless compute environments on AWS and Azure to optimize performance and cost, including storage and data services.
• Collaborate with audit and data teams to ensure data quality, governance, and compliance, with awareness of data privacy, access controls, and cataloging tools.
• Create dashboards and visualizations using Databricks SQL, Power BI, or Tableau, applying SQL optimization techniques such as query performance tuning and indexing.
• Document workflows, architecture components, and technical decisions to support transparency and knowledge sharing.
• Support CI/CD processes for data pipeline deployment using tools like GitHub, with a basic understanding of version control and automated deployment practices.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance and failures using logging and observability tools, and apply performance tuning techniques.
• Explore and prototype new features or enhancements to improve audit analytics capabilities, while working in an Agile methodology and collaborating effectively across cross-functional teams.

Education and Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates should be:

Salary Range: $41,600 - $65,000 Annual
