This is a temporary position and is anticipated to last six to nine months, though may be extended or decreased due to business needs.

About the Job – Your Role

The purpose of this position is to provide clerical and administrative support to the BHS Manager, QMHPs, QMHAs, prescribers, contractors, and volunteers in the institution. Duties would include general office, record processing, scheduling, and data entry to support operations of the program. This would include pulling and filing medical charts and having them prepped and available for staff. You may assist in maintaining your supervisor's calendar with scheduling appointments, meetings, and conferences and making travel arrangements and reservations. In addition, you will work with contractors for telehealth/remote services.

The incumbent is expected to perform position duties in a manner which promotes customer service and harmonious working relationships, including treating all persons courteously and respectfully; engage in effective team participation through willingness to assist and support co-workers, supervisors, and other work-related associations; develop good working relationships with division and agency staff and supervisors through active participation in cross-divisional group projects and in identifying and resolving problems in a constructive, collaborative manner; demonstrate openness to constructive feedback and suggestions, in an effort to strengthen work performance, and contribute to a positive, respectful, and productive work atmosphere.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents.

OR

An associate degree in any field.

OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Working Conditions

This position is located at the Oregon State Penitentiary in Salem, Oregon, a male correctional facility, includes regular contact with adults in custody (AIC). Bending, lifting, and twisting. Maintaining, retrieving, and replacing paper medical files.

About the Process – What to Expect

  • After the application deadline, a recruiter will review submissions for education and experience to identify candidates who best fit the minimum qualifications and requested skills.

Requirements for Employment

The successful candidate for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, there may be some felony convictions that could disqualify you for this position. However, having a felony record does not exclusively restrict you from being considered as an applicant. CJIS clearance is done at the conditional job offer.
