Position highlights:
The Columbia County Circuit Court in Saint Helens, Oregon, is hiring a Cashier, Scanning, and Copy Clerk (Court Operations Clerk). In this role, you will process payments for fines and fees received at the public service counter, over the phone, and through the mail. You will review new filings and case financials for accuracy and completeness. You will calculate filing fees. You will also balance the cash drawer, prepare daily bank deposit slips and reports, and turn in cash and checks for deposit or nightly storage in the court safe.
Additionally, you will enter new small claims cases into our case management system (Odyssey). You will scan documents and case files into Odyssey and verify the image quality. You will make and certify copies, answer and route phone calls, and answer questions about case files, dates, accounts, payments, and searches. You will also prepare court forms, monitor reports, and track pending cases.
You will interact with judges, court staff, attorneys, parties, law enforcement agencies, other courts, and the public. You will share information about data, policies, procedures, and court operations. The support you provide will be in person, over the phone, and in writing.
Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs.

Minimum qualifications:
The qualified candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent AND at least one (1) year of responsible clerical experience in a moderately complex office or business setting. OR any combination of education and experience equivalent to one (1) year of experience that typically supports the knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
