Position Highlights
The Benton County Circuit Court in Corvallis, Oregon, is hiring two Criminal Clerks (Court Operations Associates) to join our team in the Criminal Unit.
In this role, you will start new criminal cases in the electronic case management system. You will prepare a variety of documents and route them to court staff for use during court sessions. You will review documents filed with the court for completeness before routing them for further review. You will schedule court appearances and notify parties and attorneys of the court dates. You will also arrange for court interpreters to appear in court as needed. The support you provide will be in person, over the phone, and in writing.
Additionally, you will process set aside motions for criminal and violation cases. You will draft orders, track pending motions, and coordinate with the calendaring unit to schedule hearings for contested set aside motions. You will also process signed orders and provide copies to defendants, attorneys, the District Attorney, and law enforcement agencies.
You will spend part of your time attending monthly staff meetings, updating a desk manual, and providing coverage for other Criminal Unit staff as needed. You may be asked to appear in court to provide testimony during court proceedings.
Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs.

Minimum Qualifications (These must be evident in your resume or work history.)

At least three (3) or more years of responsible experience in a moderately complex office or business setting involving the processing of financial, administrative, or legal documents.
OR
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to three (3) years of experience that typically supports the knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
