The Oregon Department of Justice's Division of Child Support (DCS) is seeking to hire a Child Support Case Manager (Entry) for our Hillsboro Office. Primary Duties (in part):

  • Review individuals' case documents and records to determine if a child support order is needed.
  • Contact agency customers and other service providers to gather information to assist in establishing paternity and to establish and enforce support orders.
  • Establish, modify, enforce, and provide accounting records for child support orders by deciding needed action.
  • Apply federal and state laws, rules, and agency policies and procedures.
  • Verify payments are properly disbursed.
  • Verify accuracy of any state agency claims against child support.
  • Request, review, and evaluate paternity declarations to initiate action. Complete and file legal documents to establish paternity. Process modification requests.
  • Gather wage and health care information, research and apply child support guidelines to calculate support obligation.

Required Experience:

  • Three (3) years of experience working with the public in person or by phone giving information about services and programs and solving customer problems/complaints. Experience must include the use of personal computers, web-based applications, and typical software such as Microsoft Office.
  • OR A Bachelor's Degree.

AND Finalists must pass a comprehensive employment reference check and fingerprint-based criminal background check. A driver history check will be included for positions requiring state vehicle driving privileges. Adverse findings will be evaluated to determine eligibility for the position.

After one year and upon a successful completion of trial service as a Child Support Case Manager-Entry, employees will meet the minimum qualifications of Child Support Case Manager and be placed in the Child Support Case Manager classification (Salary Range (21) - $4,833- $6,713 monthly. 6% of which is the Public Employees Retirement System contribution).

Current Division of Child Support case managers who are successful finalists will be processed as lateral transfers.
