ITS provides operational support to state agencies on a 24x7x365 basis; some positions may be required to provide this critical service at any time.
Under the direction of the Director for Technology, SG-31, the Manager of Information Technology, SG-27, will be assigned to supervise ITS staff and the associated technologies in 4 OPWDD Districts covering 24 counties. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of support, technology initiatives and ITS needs for OPWDD in these areas. The incumbent will also be responsible for leading, supervising, mentoring, and coordinating staff who need to provide technical expertise and guidance in all areas of desktop and mobile hardware, Active Directory, Microsoft Technologies, miscellaneous software, and general software updates.
Specific duties will include, but not be limited to, the following:
Open to NYS employees with one year of permanent competitive service as a Manager Information Technology Services 1, SG27/M2, OR in a position at the SG25 or M1 level or higher deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in advancement of more than two salary grades or one M-grade.

ITS will not offer permanent employment to any candidate unless the candidate provides documentation that they are authorized to accept work in the United States on a permanent basis. If eligible, positions located in New York City will receive an additional $3,400 downstate adjustment location pay with regular annual salary. Positions located in the Mid-Hudson will receive an additional $1,650 adjustment location pay.
