Human Resources Specialist 1
Under the direction of a Human Resources Specialist 2, the Human Resources Specialist 1 will provide a full range of human resources services related to Staffing, Recruitment and Performance Management, disciplinary matters, administrative investigations, and other employee relations issues, as well as provide contract interpretation, and personnel administration.
Duties shall include, but not be limited to:
- Conferring with various parties to ensure timely processing of personnel transactions.
- Provide cross training and support within the units as the workload changes.
- Involvement in orientation of newly hired employees.
- Participation/completion of trainings, as required.
- Posting and filling of assigned titles/positions.
- Monitoring and processing probations.
- Conducting job audits.
- Participation in onboarding of new employees.
- Follow-up with potential candidates, verify eligibility requirements are met.
- Administration of CS tests and submission of documentation, as needed.
- Respond to e-mail and phone inquiries.
- Provide assistance reviewing E-file records, as needed.
- Participation on assigned committees(s).
- Track and manage yearly performance evaluations.
- Office coverage to 5pm on rotating schedule.
- Assist supervisors with questions, concerns and providing guidance on probation and yearly evaluations.
- Travel to and participate in job fairs, career days and other recruitment events.
- Ordering supplies for recruitment events.
- Processing/liaison for vendor contracts.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
