Assist in performing geotechnical engineering duties including determining soil and field material, ground seepage, and detailed soil mechanics.
Collect and analyze data on bedrock, foundations, and aquifer systems to inform subsurface construction plans. Investigate subsurface conditions, determine engineering properties of materials, and apply findings to design decisions and recommendations.
Prepare geotechnical drawings and details, specifications, estimates, and/or studies for design projects under the direction of licensed staff.
Coordinate design drawings and related specifications, construction cost estimates, etc., with the other disciplines.
Assist in scheduling assigned projects according to workload, priorities, and design schedules.
Assist in the review of reports, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates prepared by design consultants.
Assist with the supervision of consultant design work.
Develop and maintain project documentation, including records of meetings, correspondence, and progress.
Collaborate with senior designers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.
Assist in review and coordination of submittals, contractor Requests for Informations, Information Bulletins, and other construction administration and observation tasks during the project's construction.
Assist with supervision of junior staff.
Additional duties as assigned.
Operational Needs:
Travel may be required (approximately 20%).
Possession and maintenance of a valid Driver's License issued by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicle is required.
