The MCF (Mission Critical Facilities) Senior Project Engineer, Mechanical guides the technical design of our data center projects as subject matter expert, mentor, and resource to the technical team. Position delegates, leads, and directs work of Project Engineers and Designers. Role will conceptualize, execute, and ensure quality throughout the design process to meet our clients' needs and expectations. The Senior Project Engineer will also have Supervisor and Mentor responsibilities for junior staff and be a resource to other project engineers. The data center industry is continually evolving, and this is an ideal opportunity for candidates who enjoy working on technically challenging projects that require cutting edge designs. Aside from the preferred locations listed, this position is open to any location with a Stantec office presence, for the right candidate.
- Extensive experience in mission critical/data center design concepts.
- Experience working on large scale projects with varied stakeholders.
- Comprehensive knowledge of engineering practices, concepts, principles, codes, and standards in own discipline and basic knowledge of practices and principals in other disciplines.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Able to conceptualize and develop solutions for multifaceted systems and interactions with varied disparate components.
- Strong communicator who effectively conveys scope, schedule, and budget to clients, co-workers, and technical teams (e.g. work plan, statement of work, and 2-way communication.)
- Adept at writing comprehensive reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
- Proficient in applicable software (Autodesk, BIM 360, Revit, Trace 700). Working knowledge or proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g. Pipe-Flo) and CFD software (e.g. Fluent, 6Sigma) preferred.
- Knowledge of the construction process and interaction with design.
- Equipped to analyze, problem solve, and train others; organized and attentive to detail; flexible and collaborative.
- Able to independently resolve complex problems within the engineer's discipline.
Education and Experience:
- Accredited engineering degree or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum 10 years related industry experience preferred.
- Mission critical/data center experience required.
- Registered professional engineer (PE) license or other professional certification based on expertise required.

Locations in CO, HI, IL, MD & Various CA, NJ Areas - Min Salary $ 112,300.00 - Max Salary $ 168,500.00
Pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
