Your Opportunity In the role of Land Development Engineer, this individual will contribute to a multi-disciplinary team on the design and delivery of land development projects for our clients located in Southern Alberta. These rewarding projects will provide the individual an opportunity to learn and expand their engineering skills, while making a difference in their community. Land development is a complex endeavor that requires understanding of multiple engineering, urban planning, landscape architecture and construction disciplines. It involves bringing the best ideas from each discipline and weaving them together to create great communities for our clients and for future residents. The details of the plans and designs must be supported by the local municipalities approving authority and working closely with their representatives is instrumental in the efficient advancement of the design and construction process. We are seeking team members who are motivated to learn how to best maneuver in this exciting environment. The responsibilities listed below are both broad ranging and involve deep technical understanding.
- Must have a basic understanding of civil engineering principles including site grading, sanitary and storm sewer servicing, water servicing, shallow utility coordination, roadway, lot design, as well as a general understanding of stormwater engineering concepts.
- Ability to work as a team player and engage in constructive and creative collaboration.
- Eager to take a solution-oriented approach to solving problems.
- High emphasis on attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to learn additional skills in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant design software, which includes AutoCAD Civil 3D, PCSWMM and BlueBeam Revu.
- Able to collaborate in a project team setting and engage in creative and critical thought.
Education and Experience
- An undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- Registered as an Engineer (P.Eng. or P.L.(Eng.)) in the Province of Alberta and in good standing.
- Minimum of 4 years of industry experience recommended.
This position will be located in our Lethbridge office. Relocation assistance could be offered to the selected candidate. Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
