Electrical Design Engineer

Stantec's Buildings team in New Zealand delivers end-to-end projects for our clients, from feasibility and design through to construction, commissioning, and operation. Specialising in mission-critical facilities such as data centres and healthcare, our team of 100 brings expertise in mechanical, hydraulic, fire, civil, electrical, structural, and sustainability engineering to local projects. Day to day tasks include:

  • Understand and manage project deliverables, specifications, programme, and budget while ensuring services remain within the approved budget.
  • Communicate project expectations clearly and coordinate activities across internal and external disciplines.
  • Maintain timely and accurate communication with the client, including progress updates, change management, and addressing concerns.
  • Assist with electrical engineering tasks including site investigations, reports, design, documentation, contract monitoring, and client representation.
  • Respond to and document tender and construction queries in a timely manner.
  • Use electrical design and office software effectively to support project delivery.
  • Prepare schedules of quantities, estimates, and contract documentation.
  • Continue developing technical knowledge to support the investigation, design, and construction phases of electrical engineering projects.

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor of electrical engineering or relevant industry experience
  • 3 – 5 years industry experience with sound technical knowledge
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
