Purpose of Position

The Profiling Associate must ensure that the distribution center drives efficiency and productivity by slotting pickfaces based on volume, weight, size and business unit. Proper layout and setup of storage locations is essential; put zone locations and business units will be critical factors in decision making. This position will also be responsible for assisting with slotting projects and other profiling implementations throughout the DC as necessary. This position will work closely with the Inventory Control department as needed to assist with inventory/location accuracy and identifying/correcting issues with existing setups.

What You'll Do

  • Analyze and slot pickface locations based on product volume, weight, size, and business unit requirements to ensure optimal layout and workflow.
  • Design and implement proper layout and setup of storage zones, taking into account business unit needs and inventory turnover rates.
  • Assist with slotting projects and profiling initiatives, supporting continuous improvement throughout the distribution center.
  • Collaborate closely with Inventory Control to maintain accurate inventory records and resolve discrepancies in location setups.
  • Conduct regular audits of storage locations and pickfaces to verify accuracy and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with planning & receiving team to get the orders shipped in timely manner.
  • Support inventory control functions, including cycle counts, reconciliation, and root cause analysis of inventory issues.
  • Proficient in core applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as a working knowledge of other business systems like WMS, & SAP.
  • Respond efficiently to changing priorities and business needs, adapting workflows as required.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy and attention to detail when handling, slotting, and sequencing inventory.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to coordinate workflow and resolve operational challenges.

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution environment.
  • Ability to obtain a forklift operator certification.
  • Familiarity with WMS and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to understand daily goals and targets to maximize warehouse capacity.
  • Familiarity with product catalog numbers and handling characteristics.
  • Knowledge of logistics, production planning, and warehouse optimization concepts
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physical ability to regularly stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and use hands.
  • Capability to lift and handle inventory up to 50 pounds and perform tasks requiring high levels of motion
  • Resilience to work in environments occasionally exposed to extreme temperatures.
  • Ability to work in a scanner-directed job and achieve productivity and quality standards.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, as needed to meet operational demands
