Stanford Libraries is looking for a full-time Branch Operations Specialist to join the Terman Engineering Library team. The Branch Operations Specialist in the Terman Engineering Library performs routine circulation, reserves, and technical processing operations of the library and supervises student workers assisting with these and other branch operations. This position shares roles and responsibilities with the other Branch Operations Specialists and reports to the Engineering Library Digital Technology Manager. The Terman Engineering Library is one of the most-heavily used branch libraries on campus and supports the nine departments within the School of Engineering.
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week - M-F, 8:45am-5:15pm. Eligible for hybrid work schedule (1 WFH day per week, as assigned by supervisor), following completion of training period, and contingent upon consistent, excellent performance and departmental needs.

Minimum Education and Experience Required: Two-year college degree or above plus one or more years of experience in an academic library, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Demonstrated interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to understand and communicate library policy. Ability to apply judgment in choosing procedures and evaluating alternatives. Ability to learn library operational skills. Basic leadership skills. Experience with direct interaction with patrons. Demonstrated computer literacy with word processing, spreadsheets and communication software such as email and shared workspace software. Demonstrated familiarity with computer hardware troubleshooting. Proven track record with handling complex procedures from beginning to end. Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to perform detailed tasks accurately and efficiently. Possess strong communication skills in English.
Physical Requirements: Constantly sit, perform desk-based computer tasks. Frequently twist/bend/stoop/squat, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds. Stand/walk, reach/work above shoulders, writing by hand. Rarely use a telephone, kneel/crawl, climb (ladders, scaffolds, or other), operate hand controls. Must be able to push and maneuver a fully-loaded cart weighing up to 650 pounds that requires an initial push force up to 70 pounds.
