Senior Software Engineer, Java - Core Experience

The Core Experience Group is dedicated to the most impactful of user experiences at Squarespace, and is closely focused on the transformative potential of AI for our users. Core Experience touches all of the important moments in the user journey, from trial start to first sale, and well beyond.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join our team, focusing on building and enhancing our AI roadmap. You will join a high-impact team instrumental to powering Squarespace's next generation of the most impactful features at Squarespace.

This role is hybrid in Dublin, being 3 days per week in the office, and you will report to the Group Engineering Manager.

You'll Get To…

• Lead technical design and implementation of complex features, focusing on API extensibility, performance, and maintainability.
• Work in a cross-functional team, including Product and Design.
• Mentor junior engineers in Java development best practices.

Who We're Looking For

• Proficiency in developing RESTful APIs with an understanding of API design principles, versioning, and documentation.
• 5+ years of experience in Java and the Spring ecosystem.
• Experience with distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• A strong orientation and understanding of leveraging AI for consumer-facing products at scale
