Senior Software Engineer, Frontend - Website Elements

Websites and our CMS is the core of Squarespace. The mission of the Website Elements team is to modernize and evolve Squarespace's primary product offering, our Website builder and CMS. You'll help develop systems and frameworks that empower both internal teams and external customers to build features on top of the Website builder in a secure and self-service manner. This role requires a strong focus on frontend technologies to create scalable, maintainable code and tackle challenges in UI performance, component design, and user experience, all while contributing to the overall architecture and reducing technical debt.

This is a hybrid role working from our Dublin office 3 days per week. You will report to the Engineering Team Manager of the Websites Elements Team.

You'll Get To…

• Contribute to projects that require technical expertise, solving engineering challenges with effective and innovative solutions.
• Help shape and execute technical strategies for our website product and platform, ensuring quality in both code and system architecture.
• Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and roadmap planning, aligning technical work with business objectives.
• Break down tasks, enhance team efficiency through code reviews, and build features that improve the user experience.
• Work closely with other engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and effective technical solutions.
• Offer guidance to junior engineers, supporting their growth and development.

Who We're Looking For

• Have 5+ years of experience developing web-based production systems, with a strong background in building user-facing products and platforms using JavaScript (including React and TypeScript).
• Have experience with building and scaling long-term technical strategies.
• Keep the user experience front and center when developing new products and features.
• Have experience building modular UI components that empower other teams to integrate features smoothly.
• Be ready to expand your technical influence across teams while maintaining hands-on coding responsibilities.
• Enjoy mentoring and collaborating with engineers of various skill levels to promote growth and success.
