DevOps Engineer

Reference Data is a growing product within DVA Group. The Reference Data product services internal clients as well as external clients and is focused on developing a suite of Reference Data offerings for the broader marketplace. Our team is responsible for the design, architecture, and development of our news publishing applications using a variety of tools that are regularly updated as new technologies emerge.

The work you do will be used every single day. It’s the essential code you’ll write that will be used by S&P Global analysts to publish the news and provide equity analysis, research, opinion, and performance data to help clients/investors to make informed and take better decisions.

Responsibilities:

• Champion best practices and serve as a subject matter authority
• Develop solutions to develop/support key business needs
• Collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical partners
• Have the technical skill to review, verify, and validate the software code developed in the project
• Troubleshooting techniques and fixing the environment related issues
• Encouraging and building automated processes wherever possible
• Identifying and deploying cyber-security measures by continuously performing vulnerability assessment and risk management

What We’re Looking For:

Education and experience:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent
• 8+ years of experience as an AWS/Java DevOps Engineer or similar software engineering role
• Proficient with AWS Cloud, AWS DevOps, SecDevOps
• Good knowledge of Java and other programming languages
• Good knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, containerization, etc.
• Selecting and deploying appropriate CI/CD tools
• Strive for continuous improvement and build continuous integration, continuous development, and constant deployment pipeline (CI/CD Pipeline)
• Defining and setting development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operation
• Command of essential technologies: Spring Microservices, Versioning tools like Git, Gitlab, CICD pipeline

Good to Have:

• Knowledge of RDBMS, SQL and NoSQL alternatives and performance tuning
• Preference will be given to AWS Certified professionals

Personal competencies:

• Proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Open minded, flexible, and willing to adapt to changing situations
• Experience working collaboratively with geographically distributed teams to achieve project plan deliverables and exceed client expectations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
