The Fall Manufacturing Engineer Co-op will assist the Manufacturing Engineering Department with production activities. Primary work involves using SolidWorks CAD software to design tools and fixtures for manufacturing. Minimum qualifications include being a student enrolled in a four-year degree program, majoring in Engineering who has completed their freshman year of college. Experience with SolidWorks or other CAD software is also required. The co-op must be willing to work three or more rotating semesters.
Other functions include tooling and production method development, material storage analysis and improvement, collection and analysis of labor/machinery productivity and efficiency data, and machine tool set up reduction. Preferred qualifications include knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and techniques, experience in or knowledge of metal cutting, and experience in or knowledge of metal cutting processes/machinery.
