Service Technician

A service technician is required to provide outstanding service to our customers in a timely, professional, and friendly manner while fixing their spa, pool, or sauna. Duties include minor electrical work, plumbing, leak detection, water chemistry, and other service-related activities. The position requires working inside and outside, in all types of weather.

Responsibilities:

• Follows all procedures related to servicing all products from Watkins Manufacturing and all other suppliers.
• Maintain proper inventory of parts and tools on service truck or at workstation.
• Maintain cleanliness and maintenance of service vehicle.
• Turn in weekly reports on service vehicle inventory and maintenance.
• Maintain clean work station.
• Maintain weekly or daily cleanliness of shop area: sweeping, emptying trash, organizing tools, etc.
• Maintain clean and organized parts storage area.
• Following procedures to ensure all paperwork is handled properly.
• Communicate with customers and other staff to provide outstanding service.
• Work as directed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of all Watkins products and those of other suppliers.
• Basic knowledge of electronics, plumbing, and woodworking.
• Skill to properly diagnose problems and repair in a timely fashion.
• Skill to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal.
• Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
• Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems.
• Ability to navigate the territory in order to arrive at jobs on time.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Must be physically able to stand, squat, lift, bend, crawl, and kneel.
• Must be able to operate a forklift and a Bobcat.
• Must be able to work alone and with others.

Credentials and Experience:

• Some background in basic repair or maintenance.
• Valid drivers license.
• Good driving record.

Goal Basis:

• Work orders completed within 2 days if possible.
• No Call-backs - fix it right the first time.
• Accessory Sales - sell while on site and get extra commission.

Special Requirements:

• Willing to work overtime, late hours, and in all types of weather as requested by Service Manager and Service Dispatcher.
• Willing to work in the retail store on rare occasions.
