Software Development Manager

You will work with executive leadership to chart a path to success, providing influence and technical direction based on your experience as a software development leader. We are seeking an individual with substantial experience building and leading software engineering teams responsible for the delivery and operation of large-scale cloud services. Experience in video playback, video encoding technologies, content delivery using CDNs, and live streaming is highly desirable. As a manager, we seek individuals with strong technical depth and outstanding leadership skills. Excellent communication and the ability to lead and collaborate across teams are hallmarks for this role. You will mentor and guide software engineers, driving complex technical projects and delivering innovative solutions. Responsibilities

• Recruit and hire talented engineers to deliver scalable, high-quality cloud services.
• Lead, coach, and develop a software engineering team building cloud services for streaming providers moving workloads to OCI.
• Stay up to date on emerging technologies and industry best practices, ensuring compliance and fostering innovation within the team.
• Launch new cloud services and champion operational excellence across engineering.
• Set and drive the technical vision and direction for your engineering team.
• Collaborate effectively with geographically distributed engineering teams.
• Coach, mentor, and help grow engineering talent, supporting career development.
• Establish and promote engineering standards, processes, and best practices across the team.
• Work with leaders to develop strategies that accomplish both technical and business goals.
• Partner closely with product management, security, and executive leadership to deliver on architectural requirements, standards, and key metrics.
• Set clear goals and expectations for both team and individual performance; guide employees to achieve measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

Proven experience in large-scale software development and engineering team management. Strong domain expertise in playback, content augmentation, video transcoding and packaging, content delivery, streaming analytics, and/or flexible billing & cost analytics (highly desired). Hands-on experience delivering and operating cloud services. Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate with geo-distributed engineering teams. BS/MS in Computer Science or a related technical field.
