Senior Quality Engineer

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to join our Quality Team in North Charleston, South Carolina. The successful candidate is passionate about problem solving, engaging with the production system and doing complex data analysis. Quality Engineers support existing production through process improvement techniques involving defect reduction, verification system design and improvements, and ensures compliance to requirements. Our quality engineers get involved in complex engineering and production challenges and have a critical role in the continuous improvement of our quality management system, products and production system.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads integration of contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.
  • Provides interpretation of complex requirements.
  • Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for large programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
  • Develops Quality criteria to support supplier selection activities.
  • Leads various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.
  • Develops and selects methods for analysis, testing and audit to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
  • Assists in development of new standards repairs for non-conformances.
  • Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Develops and implements corrective actions.
  • Performs benchmarking and other forms of advanced analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
  • Works under minimal direction.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. ยง 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience collecting, organizing, and analyzing data; summarizing findings; developing conclusions
  • 5+ years of experience researching engineering drawings and requirements
  • 3+ years of experience leading cross-functional teams
  • 3+ years of experience with multi-functions (quality engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, system engineering, design engineering, etc)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems through diverse approaches
  • Experience with Engineering and Change Processes
  • Lean Six Sigma (DMAIC) Blackbelt certified
  • Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) Greenbelt or Blackbelt certified
  • Experience in data analytics
  • Master's or Doctorate of Science/Engineering degree from an accredited school

Summary pay range: 109,000 โ€“ 147,000
