RCDD Engineer

Rcd Engineer Position

A client of Insight Global is seeking an RCD Engineer to support their team. This company is a smaller contracting company for many of the large giants around the Upstate of South Carolina. They take on new builds, revamps, and upgrades in structured cabling. This can be within audio visual, access control, networking, data center, etc. They have supported projects with GE Vernova, Lockheed Martin, Vermeer, etc. This team is made up currently of six design engineers and two PMs, reporting directly to the director of operations. This job will include the pre-design, bidding, estimating, design, and quality control of incoming projects and future projects.

Skills and requirements:

• 7+ years experience in this field with large commercial projects ranging from 5K up to 3 million.
• Must have RCDD certification (registered communications distribution design).
• Must be able to estimate project budgets, design projects, see projects through the lifecycle.
• Familiar with design software such as Bluebeam, AutoCad or similar.
• Familiar with bidding sites such as: PlanHub, ConstructConnect, etc.
• Proven experience in structure cabling, network design or within a data center environment.
• PMP, Project+, or CAPM certifications.
