Job Overview

Join our team as a Compute and Cloud Engineering expert, where you'll be at the forefront of designing technical infrastructure solutions involving server hardware, hypervisors, VMs, and cloud solutions. You'll be a thought leader driving change and innovation in a startup-like environment.

Responsibilities

• Drive architecture designs with an 'automation first' approach, focusing on Infrastructure as Code and enterprise-level architecture for physical/cloud compute and hypervisor levels.
• Identify opportunities for automation to replace manual activities in deploying and maintaining infrastructure.
• Evaluate and mitigate risks to environment stability, resiliency, performance, and security.
• Foster a continuous improvement mindset, enhancing processes and the control environment.
• Manage operating system templates and drive deployment automation.
• Assess technology gaps and evaluate tools/products to address them.
• Collaborate in application roadmap planning with stakeholders and other engineering groups.
• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of metrics for continuous improvement.
• Participate in Kanban delivery model for sprint releases using Jira for tracking.

Requirements

• Experience with UCS Platform, IBM, and Dell hardware.
• Proficiency in Cisco Networking, Data Center Migration, and Rack architecture.
• Knowledge of Data Center architecture and Storage Fabric.

Preferences

• Familiarity with Compute Hardware like Cisco UCS and Lenovo Servers.
• Experience with VMware Suite, Windows Server, and Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, VMC on AWS).
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools (GitHub, Atlassian, Jenkins, Puppet, Terraform, Ansible).
• Understanding of Storage Methodologies
• Service Now for change tracking, Jira for project tracking
• Proficiency in Lucid for Architecture diagrams.

This is a Contract position based out of Fort Mill, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
