SAIC is seeking a Cloud Systems Administrator for our customer site in North Charleston, SC. Key responsibilities include managing and deploying hardware profiles and firmware upgrades for Cisco UCS blades and associated UCS shelves and hardware. The role also involves installing, configuring, patching, and maintaining VMware hypervisors, VMware vCenter, and associated cloud infrastructure components. Additional duties include system hardening, vulnerability mitigation, and collaboration with IA/C&A teams to execute required security scans, compliance audits, and applicable STIG templates for VMware and server components. The position requires troubleshooting VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) and performing upgrades/STIGS on virtual appliances, as well as complex system issues in preproduction and production environments. The Cloud Systems Administrator will develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline deployment and operational workflows, monitor system performance and capacity across local and remote environments, and optimize configurations to improve reliability and efficiency. Collaboration with network, storage, and security teams to design, test, and implement integrated cloud-based and on-premises solutions is also part of the role. The position involves managing SAN storage infrastructure, performing daily maintenance, and ensuring data integrity and recoverability. Lifecycle documentation, including configuration management, patching records, and architectural design artifacts, will be created and maintained. The role also includes evaluating emerging technologies, recommending improvements, and contributing to modernization initiatives. Support for DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance through technical documentation, validation testing, and audit readiness is required. Tier III support for escalated system and infrastructure incidents is necessary, and participation in after-hours or on-call rotation to support mission-critical systems is required.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems, with a minimum of three years of IT professional experience overseeing hybrid software, web, and physical or virtual hardware systems from design through deployment and maintenance. Experience integrating various network operating systems, application programs, and hardware through full lifecycle engineering is required. At least one year of technical experience supporting systems engineering or administration within a cloud-based enterprise hosting environment is necessary. Required certifications include at least one of the following: CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), IEEE CS Software Development Associate Engineer Certification, Microsoft Role-Based Certifications, Red Hat Certified Professional, Cisco Certified Network Associate, Oracle Certified Professional, VMware Certified Technical Associate – Data Center Virtualization, Citrix Certified Administrator, Cloud Certifications such as AWS Architect, Developer, or SysOps Associate, Agile Developer or Certified Scrum Developer, and Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II or higher. Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Secret clearance (Top Secret eligibility preferred).
