Engineering Technician

SAIC is seeking an Engineering Technician in Hanahan, SC. Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Supports engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly
Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts, or defined plans to perform testing, checkout, and troubleshooting functions
Construct components, subunits, or simple models, adapt standard equipment, and troubleshoot system failures through various skill methods to correct malfunctions
Conduct routine repair, retrofit, systems integration, calibration, and testing; in-line repair and testing; operation of test equipment
Assist in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials that are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts

Qualifications:

Required Education:

Engineering Technician I: High School Diploma and three (3) years of experience doing any of the following: integration, manufacturing; or maintenance
Engineering Technician II: High School Diploma and four (4) years of experience doing any of the following: integration, manufacturing; or maintenance
Engineering Technician III: High School Diploma with five (5) years of related experience doing any of the following: integration, manufacturing; or maintenance

Required Experience:

Ability to safely complete all of the physical demands of the job in a manufacturing environment, including but not limited to the following:
Lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying up to 50 pounds, unassisted, on a regular basis
Walking, bending, stooping, sitting, standing, or squatting for extended periods
Repeatedly manipulating and handling tools needed for installing electrical components, mechanical parts, and metal work into vehicles. Familiar with the use and operation of power tools is necessary
Move and arrange cable supplies and electronic equipment
