The Energy Project Engineer conducts engineering work to develop and implement energy efficiency and energy production projects for customer facilities. Projects include energy efficiency upgrades and renewable energy systems. The Energy Project Engineer is responsible for conducting and supporting engineering studies, analyses, and project development. The engineer supports awarded mechanical and construction projects from design through implementation. Specifically responsible for the development and/or implementation of mechanical system retrofit/installation in customer facilities. Responsibilities include site investigations, analyzing energy use, preparing savings calculations, developing cost estimates, and preparing written reports. In addition, the engineer supports engineering and design for implementation of design-build projects. Candidate must be familiar with facility systems including chilled and hot water systems, air handling systems, building controls, and electrical distribution systems. The engineer works with other EES team members, and interfaces with customers, subconsultants, product vendors, subcontractors, and others to support projects. Candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills, analytical skills, and experience with building mechanical and electrical systems.

Physical Demands and Work Environment: Due to the remote nature of this position, we require applicants to have prior experience in remote employment roles. Must be disciplined, take initiative, possess the utmost integrity, and capable of working proficiently in a virtual environment as both a team member and an individual. Site visits and client facilities may include industrial or construction environments requiring adherence to site safety requirements. Travel to client sites will be required. Method of travel may include various methods such as commercial air, rental cars, or reimbursable travel using your personal vehicle.
