Universal - Financial Sales Representative

South Carolina Federal Credit Union is currently seeking a Universal - Financial Sales Representative to join our team of outstanding professionals at our Sunset Financial Center in Lexington, SC.

Note: Universal - Financial Sales Representatives will receive an additional premium added to their base salary.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Navigate multiple systems to professionally perform Sale tasks in primary role and Service I and II tasks in secondary role in person and by telephone/email with a high degree of accuracy and speed in a high-volume, fast-paced financial center environment.
  • Sales tasks include, but are not limited to, opening/closing/maintaining loans and opening/maintaining a variety of accounts, IRAs, safety deposit boxes, and other products and services offered by the credit union, as well as conducting other Sales related tasks.
  • Service I tasks include, but are not limited to, processing monetary/non-monetary transactions, balancing cash drawers, servicing debit cards, and performing account maintenance, as well as conducting other Service I related tasks.
  • Service II tasks include, but are not limited to, processing disputes/fraud and wire transfers, removing joint account owners and POD beneficiaries, servicing IRA accounts and safety deposit boxes, and accepting/revoking power of attorneys, as well as conducting other Service II related tasks.
  • Professionally correspond with consumer and business members and provide superior member service.
  • Consistently meet or exceed sales/performance objectives and operational standards.
  • Maintain an active prospect list and professionally correspond with members or potential members to identify their financial needs and to build long-term relationships.
  • Maintain effective sales skills and in-depth product and service knowledge in order to offer products and services that best fit the members' needs.
  • Refer business, mortgage, insurance, and investment products and services.
  • Assist members with various online products and services offered.
  • Appropriately handle member complaints and resolve problems.
  • Properly verify members' identification and ensure confidentiality of members' information.

Minimum requirements include:

  • Possess a minimum of two years of similar or related experience successfully performing in a universal service and sales role within a financial service environment that has demonstrated strong sales skills with a proven record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Possess the ability to be highly adaptable and can switch between the sales and service roles upon immediate notice.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to communicate effectively with members and employees in person and by telephone/email.
  • Possesses demonstrated ability to successfully perform duties with a high degree of accuracy and speed in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Possess demonstrated ability to generate new business by outbound calling and reaching out to the local community.
  • Possess demonstrated ability to provide superior member/customer service.
  • Possess demonstrated ability to engage in relationship building discussions.
  • Possess demonstrated ability to identify and anticipate members' needs and offer products and services.
  • Possess demonstrated ability to achieve performance objectives and operational standards.
  • Possess demonstrated ability to professionally handle member complaints with a successful outcome.
  • Possess demonstrated ability to effectively multi-task.
  • Possess time management and organizational skills.
  • Possess problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Possess interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others.
  • Possess basic proficiency in Windows based programs.
  • Possess intermediate mathematical skills performing calculations involving adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.

NOTE: Relevant military experience is considered for veterans and transitioning service members.
