Counter Sales Representative II
World Electric is looking for a Counter Sales Representative to join our team! The Counter Sales Representative will be responsible for selling electrical supplies, various parts, and equipment at specific counter locations. This includes facilitating moving products throughout the warehouse through equipment in areas such as Receiving, Stocking, Shipping, Order Processing, and Replenishment.
Key Accountabilities:
- Determines the make and type of product needed.
- Discusses use and features of various parts.
- Researches replacement part stock number and price.
- Fills customer orders from stock.
- Places special orders and branch transfers for nonstock orders or backorders.
- Receives payment or obtains credit authorization.
- Advises customer on substitution or modification of part when replacement is not available.
- Receives and fills telephone orders.
- Assists customers with gathering their material.
- Assists customers with loading the material in their vehicle.
- Makes proactive telephone calls to potential new customers and existing customers.
Customer Service:
- Greets customers in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.
- Maintains a professional appearance.
- Maintains a clean work area.
Operations:
- Operates computer to enter order, retrieve data.
- Sorts and places material or items on racks, shelves, or in bins.
- Regularly rotates inventory on display racks in the counter area.
- Constructs orders based on delivery area preventing stock from being damaged on delivery.
- Boxes up and labels material.
- Ability to operate wire machine for Will Call customers.
Stock Replenishment:
- Examines returned part to determine if defective, and exchanges part or refunds money.
- Assists in organizing counter.
- Verifies correct quantities and items for all sections.
- Keeps the display rack stocked.
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 1 year or more related customer service-oriented experience
Requirements:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong math and reading skills
- Forklift Certification preferred

- Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and slide packages that typically weigh up to 50 lbs.
- Frequently requires standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching with arms, and constant use of hands.
- Ability to stand on feet for majority of an 8-hour day.
- Continuous mental and visual alertness to maintain safety and achieve accuracy.
- Requires flexibility and mobility in body movements.
- Occasionally, may be required to lift items greater than 50 lbs. with assistance.
