Solotech is not accepting Agency/Recruiter submissions The Senior Applications & Support Engineer plays a crucial role in the Application Support team, focusing on designing, delivering, and supporting innovative AV systems. While specialising in audio, the role also involves video, lighting, control, and networked AV systems to create integrated solutions. With strong technical expertise, the engineer proactively engages in system design, commissioning, troubleshooting, and collaboration with Sales, Project Management, CAD/BIM, Service, and Installation teams to maintain high standards across project delivery. The role supports pre-sales and delivery, providing technical input during bids, assisting with specifications, and guiding projects from concept to handover. It also involves mentoring less experienced engineers and contributing to team standards and best practices.

Work experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant role. Essential skills / experience: Strong understanding of integrated AV systems across various projects. Familiarity with AV design workflows Experience in producing, reviewing, or coordinating technical drawings in software such as Vectorworks, AutoCAD, Revit, etc. Experience with DSP-based audio systems and software-driven AV platforms, particularly Q-SYS or equivalent environments, including networked audio, control integration, and system configuration. Working knowledge of networked AV technologies such as Dante and AV-over-IP. Ability to interpret and create technical drawings and system documentation. Experience in all project phases: pre-sales, design, commissioning, handover, and support. Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills. Confident communicator, able to collaborate with teams and engage with clients. Organised and adaptable, managing multiple priorities effectively. Proven decision-making and technical ownership. Experience with mentoring junior members of the team Desirable skills / experience: Experience in multidisciplinary AV design and coordination with CAD/BIM teams Experience with life-safety or PAVA systems Essential requirements: Right to work and remain in the UK. Full Clean Drivers Licence. Ability to travel throughout the UK including overnight stays from time to time. Level of education: Educated to Degree level (or equivalent) or relevant work experience.
