Technician

These technologies are used by customers to improve operational efficiencies, enhance product quality, protect plant assets, minimize environmental impact, and create cleaner and safer environments.

This position involves being a technician supporting chemical applications and this employee will be working with a local Solenis team. In this position, the employee will be trained to conduct lab testing, repair and install chemical feed equipment, input numbers into excel, inventory control, chemical transfers, and maintain a positive customer (mill personnel) relationship.

Responsibilities:

  • The primary resource who performs routine testing and monitoring at the customer site including data entry and contributes to service report preparation
  • Interfaces with the customer to understand any issues with chemicals or equipment
  • Manages product inventory at the customer including deliveries to process units and offloading to customer tanks
  • Adjusts chemical feed levels to meet optimal chemical performance based on routine testing and monitoring; Delivers chemical and compiles trial data at the customer site
  • Alerts the site manager of any problems or opportunities with the customer and begins to troubleshoot issues
  • Conducts expanded testing of process variables to identify dosage improvements or mechanical impacts
  • Specs out, sets up, maintains and troubleshoots monitoring and feed equipment
  • Works with the site team and customers to ensure optimal program performance

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to work in an industrial environment: short term exposure to hot and cold areas, industrial noise wearing ear protection (ear plugs), etc.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs.
  • Plumbing/mechanical/electrical skills. Knowledge and ability in at least one of these areas. On the job training will be conducted.
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, Excel) is preferred, but can be trained on the job.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills. There will be team support to help.
  • High safety awareness- Ability to complete safety training, follow safety policies and work in a safety-oriented manner.
