Packaging Engineer

The Packaging Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all packaging materials meet the required performance, quality, and regulatory standards across the EURASIA region. This role focuses on improving existing packaging solutions to enhance cost efficiency, sustainability, and manufacturability. The successful candidate will lead packaging validation and troubleshooting activities, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and maintain accurate packaging documentation and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead packaging performance evaluations to ensure materials meet all functional, quality, and regulatory requirements.
2. Identify and implement packaging improvements that optimize cost, reduce manufacturing complexity, and support sustainability objectives
3. Investigate and resolve packaging material failures in line with Solenis Quality procedures, ensuring timely corrective action.
4. Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Sales to ensure packaging materials are effectively managed and aligned with business needs.
5. Develop and maintain packaging specifications and documentation for quality control and traceability
6. Evaluate and qualify packaging suppliers to ensure compliance with company standards and performance criteria.

Education:

Degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Packaging Science, or a related technical field.

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years' experience in an FMCG or chemical packaging environment, with a proven record of successful packaging material implementation and optimization.
• Experience working with hazardous materials and related transport regulations preferred.

Knowledge:

• Strong technical knowledge of packaging materials, particularly for hazardous chemicals and FMCG products.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements for FMCG and hazardous goods packaging within the EURASIA region.
• Familiarity with packaging testing standards (ASTM, ISTA, UN performance tests).
• Knowledge of life cycle analysis (LCA) or sustainable packaging practices is beneficial.
