Commercial Business Partner
Sodexo is seeking an experienced Commercial Business Partner to join our professional and passionate team on a permanent, full-time basis, based in our Perth Support Centre.
The Commercial Business Partner supports the Commercial Manager in delivering commercial and financial strategy, policy, and standards, and is accountable for the commercial integrity of site accounts, processes, and systems.
You will build strong client relationships and partner with key internal stakeholders to embed a customer-centric culture, while identifying opportunities for standardised service offerings and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse site operational performance to drive profitability and efficiency.
- Support preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, providing insight and analysis.
- Ensure robust financial governance across billing, cash, labour, stock, and asset management.
- Identify and manage commercial and financial risks, recommending mitigation strategies.
- Participate in national commercial initiatives, mobilisations, and continuous improvement projects.
- Assist with debtor management and credit risk related to billing activity.
- Support Business Development through bid model review for new tenders and contract retentions.
- Prepare pricing and contract variations for existing and new business.
- Develop approval memos for CEO, CFO, and Finance leadership.
- Prepare business cases and CAPEX submissions.
- Develop and deliver Profit Improvement Plans.
- Undertake retail analysis, price escalations, and contract rate reviews.
- Contract management – act as the principal liaison for site management regarding contract interpretation.
- Ensure site and subcontractor compliance with business controls, systems, and contractual requirements.
- Drive improvements to site financial processes and promote a positive, accountable culture.
- Coach and mentor Village Managers and Heads of Department on commercial and financial matters.
- Conduct periodic site visits and contract compliance reviews.
- Support month-end close and reporting within required timeframes.
- Continuously improve reporting processes and management reporting quality.
Qualifications
Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Accounting, or related discipline.
5–8 years' experience in a similar commercial or finance role.
CA or CPA qualifications are desirable, but not required.
Strong experience in contract negotiation and administration, including Australian Standard contracts.
High-level analytical, commercial, and financial modelling skills.
Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
