Sodexo is seeking a Food Operations Manager 1 to support our Food & Nutrition Services team at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens, a respected acute care hospital located in Flushing, NY. This position is a key leadership role reporting directly to the Client Executive and managing a team of approximately 100 frontline employees.

The Food Operations Manager will play a critical role in ensuring high-quality food service delivery for patients, staff, and visitors, while maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and regulatory compliance. 3-5 years management experience in healthcare food service strongly preferred

What You'll Do

1. Provide day-to-day leadership and operational oversight of patient dining services, retail operations, and catering functions.
2. Manage and develop a large team in a unionized healthcare environment, fostering a culture of accountability, respect, and continuous improvement.
3. Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, DOH, HACCP, and food safety regulations.
4. Collaborate with clinical and culinary teams to enhance patient experience and satisfaction.
5. Drive operational efficiency, cost management, and service excellence.
6. Support staff development through training, performance evaluation, and mentoring.

What You Bring

• 3–5 years of management experience in food service, with healthcare strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in patient services and team leadership within a union environment.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory standards (HACCP, Joint Commission, DOH, etc.).
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage large-scale operations with a focus on efficiency and service excellence.
