HR Business Partner

We are seeking an HR Business Partner to support our Corporate Shared Services teams, reporting to the Senior HR Business Partner. You will guide leaders and employees through employee relations, investigations, leadership and employee development, and change management. Building key relationships with the Corporate team, you'll provide coaching, advice, and innovative HR solutions to achieve business objectives.

Scope of Role

  • Serve as the primary HR contact for designated business sectors, supporting C-suite leaders, corporate managers, and employees. Conduct thorough, objective investigations for complex claims and complaints.
  • Advise on legal requirements, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and implement HR policies, processes, SOPs, tools, and programs.
  • Facilitate HR training to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Lead HR projects through the full lifecycle, from planning and project management to successful implementation.
  • Deliver performance management support, including coaching, career development, succession planning, and handling disciplinary actions and terminations.
  • Enhance employee engagement, morale, culture, productivity, and retention across the organization. Support the Communications, Engagement, and Culture Lead with projects and initiatives aimed at strengthening organizational culture and driving business improvement.
  • Coordinate the administration and tracking of documentation and information across the employee lifecycle.
  • Analyze HR metrics and provide insights and recommendations.
  • Support OH&S policies and programs, disability management, leaves management, return to work protocol, and workplace accommodation.
  • Conduct needs analysis, research, and strategy development for HR initiatives.
  • Participate in peer reviews for HR team members.
  • Understand total rewards programs and strategies.
  • Stay updated with HR trends, best practices, proposed bills, and legislation changes.
  • Advocate for diversity and inclusion best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the HR team.

Knowledge and Experience

  • 3-5+ years in a Human Resources role.
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector is an asset.
  • Understanding of Employment Standards and Human Rights legislation for multiple provinces.
  • Strong computer skills, proficiency with HR databases, and Microsoft Office.
  • Must pass a basic security clearance.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license for travel to facilities.

  • Accessible, adaptable, and willing to work outside normal hours when required to meet business demands.

Education

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources (diploma/degree)
  • CPHR designation or working towards it is an asset.
