Kitchen service utility assists the kitchen blender by providing correctors, combos and spices to blender. Completes daily production and/or QA paperwork. Ensures work is completed in a safe manner and within the quality parameters established. This position requires problem solving responsibilities.

Core Responsibilities

• Brings correctors and combos to blender
• Brings re-work to the blender
• Takes trash to inedible dock
• Brings and opens spices for blender and help blender operator as needed
• Using and maintaining a variety of knives, hand tools, powered tools, equipment, electrical devices, controls and possibly powered industrial trucks.
• Working at fixed workstation locations which are conveyor line paced.
• Pushing or pulling of heavy roller carts, bins, or transport containers.
• Be available to work scheduled hours, which may include mandatory overtime, depending upon production demands.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Must be able to read English in order to be able to identify correct product.

• Knowledge and experience in meat industry is preferred, but not required.
• Being able to understand and follow oral and written instruction from supervisors and designated staff.
• Must possess problem solving skills and leadership qualities.
• Competent and trustworthy to comply with federal inspection programs and company safety and health policies.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Working in cold environments of 20° to 45° F
• Working in hot environments exceeding 100° F
• Frequent contact with animal fats
• A variety of arm and hand movements are required in applying force, movement and repetition
• Frequent static and/or awkward work postures with neck and spine while grasping, pinching, pulling, lifting, extending, flexing the hands and arms
• Lifting and lowering objects up to 60 lbs.
• Carrying, lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling of heavy and or awkward objects or loads
• Walking long distances, sometimes on wet, uneven and slippery surfaces
• Climbing or moving ladders, steps, stairwells and platforms
• Continuous standing in one location for long periods (up to 2-3 hours before break)
