As the Global Trade Services Analyst at Smithfield Foods, you will play a critical role in ensuring flawless international operations. You will reduce costly errors in USDA, export, and import documentation for global shipments by maximizing the efficiency of the GTS application. Leveraging your expertise, you will analyze current processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement procedures that uphold strict compliance with governmental and company standards.

In this position, you will act as a central figure in adherence efforts, you will streamline documentation processes and maintain Smithfield Foods' reputation for excellence in global trade. As part of the Smithfield Foods team, you will embody the company's commitment to precision, efficiency, and global leadership in food production and distribution.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • SAP GTS Application Management: You will oversee the SAP GTS application, including its promotion, development, and role in exports. You will create and implement policies and procedures for exporting products using the GTS application. You will analyze current processes to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, recommend enhancements, and ensure compliance with governmental and company requirements.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Cost Management: You will implement, and audit policies, regulations, and requirements set forth by USDA, importing countries, and the company. Additionally, you will assist management in ensuring export compliance and creating strategies to exceed customer and company objectives.
  • PHIS and USDA Systems Oversight: You will act as the administrator and super user of the PHIS export module and the USDA export library.
  • Documentation and Team Coordination: You will be responsible for providing direction and support to internal departments and third-party documentation teams to meet customer, importing country, and company requirements. You will audit documentation for accuracy and timeliness, working to reduce delays and costs in document creation.

WHAT WE'RE SEEKING:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in business, international business, or international relations and 2+ years of relevant experience in international logistics or international customer service within the protein industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
  • Strong critical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work through complex, unstructured problems.
  • Capable of communicating and expressing ideas clearly and concisely, in both written and verbal formats.
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills, organizational planning, teamwork, analytical reasoning, and adaptability.
  • Planning, organization, and execution skills.
  • Ability to influence change.
  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and positive work environment.

OTHER SKILLS THAT MAKE YOU STAND OUT:

  • Experience working directly with USDA export requirements for proteins preferred.
  • GTS and SAP experience preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Capable of sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Frequently required to sit; stand; walk; reach with hands and arms.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
  • Able to travel as needed.
