Database Design Engineer
Database Design: Collaborate with application developers to design and optimize Oracle databases that meet application requirements, scalability, and performance needs.
Database Implementation: Install, configure, and set up Oracle database instances, creating and configuring tables, indexes, and stored procedures.
Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize database performance, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, query optimization, and index maintenance.
Backup and Recovery: Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data availability and integrity. Knowledge of backup and recovery strategies and tools, including Oracle Recovery Manager RMAN.
Security: Manage database security by configuring user roles, permissions, encryption, and auditing to protect sensitive data.
Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as patching, upgrading, and applying service packs to keep Oracle instances up to date.
High Availability: Implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions, such as Data Guard and Real Application Clusters RAC.
Monitoring and Alerting: Set up monitoring tools to track database health and performance, configuring alerts for proactive issue resolution.
Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, procedures, and incidents.
SQL and PL/SQL: Analyze and optimize SQL and PL/SQL queries for efficient data retrieval and manipulation.
