Integrated Audio/Visual/Lighting/Controls System Designer

We are seeking an experienced Integrated Audio/Visual/Lighting/Controls System Designer for our growing Engineering team. You will be involved in pre and post sales processes to design systems and complete deliverables to ensure installation success; work closely with the sales team to develop quotes for clients; and support the operations team to develop system drawings, and other supporting documentation to ensure proper system functionality and client satisfaction.

What would your typical day look like?

• Understand clients' requests, manage their expectations, and convert client criteria into functional audio/video system designs
• Maintain a current knowledge base of existing and emerging technologies in AV as well as IT and other technological verticals. Is committed to continuing education for the purpose of furthering an understanding of products currently being used in designs as well as learning about new products in the marketplace
• Develop conceptual block diagrams for use in sales proposals
• Develop bill of materials, labor estimates, and write scopes of work for pre-sales opportunities
• Generate complete system drawings and supporting documentation using company provided tools. System drawings include:
• Floor plans and reflected ceiling plans to show equipment locations
• Single line diagrams to show system connections, riser diagrams to show interconnects
• Equipment rack elevations
• Infrastructure drawings (in the form of elevations and other types of drawings) to coordinate with other trades
• Electrical circuit schedules
• Conduit size and location schedules
• BTU calculations for rack room cooling
• Other drawing types may be required based on the project and required deliverables
• As-built drawings – completed post-installation
• Complete peer review of deliverables as needed
• Work within traditional construction bid processes. This will include reviewing bid specification manuals and drawings to develop a proper bill of materials and labor estimate to complete a project. It will also include meeting bid deadlines for deliverables such as: system drawings, RFIs, etc.
• Interface with operations team to supply clarity regarding what is to be delivered to customers post sale
• Support Project Manager another other team members in solving project conflicts and issues, ensuring the successful delivery of all projects
• Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure technical knowledge is gained to successfully deliver projects.
• Other tasks/duties as assigned

What does the resume of our future ideal Team Member include?

• 1+ years' experience designing commercial audio, video lighting systems
• Produces accurate and timely work that consistently meets or exceeds client needs. Makes good and logical decisions when solving design and/or system functionality issues, sometimes using creative or unconventional solutions.
• Has an above average understanding of the AV marketplace with the ability to incorporate existing or emerging products and trends
• Possess excellent organizational skills with the ability to successfully handle assigned tasks / projects with minimum direction and competing deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, including the ability to describe project and product deliverables in a manner that is understandable to both developers and customers
• Possess a good understanding of IT networking
• Proficiency using AutoCAD in the production of detailed schematics that meet company and project standards
• Possess a valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.

What is the job environment like?

This is an office-based position that requires dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other office equipment. This position can be a fully remote position; however, due to payroll tax constraints, only people living in Tennessee, Georgia or Florida will be considered for this position.
