Human Resources Assistant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated HR Assistant to join our team and support the Human Resources department in driving employee engagement and operational excellence.
Position Overview
The ideal candidate will have experience in HR administrative tasks, along with strong communication and interpersonal skills. This position plays a key role in supporting the HR department across a wide range of functions, including recruiting support, employee data management, benefits administration, and compliance activities. The HR Assistant will be trusted to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism while helping streamline HR processes to ensure a positive employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update employee records (electronic and hard copy).
- Support HR databases with timely data entry (new hires, separations, leaves of absence).
- Assist with new hire onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Manage job postings, review resumes, and assist with scheduling interviews.
- Coordinate pre-hire/post-offer paperwork and background checks.
- Assist with planning and executing new hire orientation.
- Support employee recognition and engagement programs.
- Provide assistance during Benefits Open Enrollment.
- Track employee data and run monthly HR reports; validate and clean up data as needed.
- Support HR compliance efforts, audits, and reporting.
- Coordinate HR projects, trainings, and meetings.
- Maintain I-9 forms and process E-Verify documentation.
- Coordinate unemployment and Workers' Compensation claim documentation.
- Provide support for company safety initiatives.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of HR-related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency with HR software systems; Paylocity experience preferred.
- Experience running reports in HR systems and exporting data to Excel.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills required.
- Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (JazzHR a plus).
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent data entry accuracy and attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience sourcing candidates is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and discretion when handling confidential information.
Compensation
$22 – $26 per hour, depending on experience.
