Middle Backend Engineer (PHP, Laravel)

We are now looking for a Middle Backend Engineer (PHP, Laravel).

Brighterly — an online school for mathematics for children. We are building an educational ecosystem to become the "home page" for learning mathematics for children and their parents. Brighterly is developing the next EdTech unicorn in the market with a potential of $130 billion.

The challenges we are facing:

• Developing the backend of our own LMS system with the team;
• Developing the API client cabinet;
• Implementing tools to improve operational processes;
• Finding and solving infrastructure problems when they occur (we handle infrastructure ourselves with backend developers).

What is important to us:

• 2+ years of experience in backend development;
• Experience with PHP 8 (OOP, PHPUnit);
• Laravel 8+ (or experience with other frameworks);
• Experience with Linux;
• Knowledge of Git, OOP, Design Patterns;
• Docker.

It will be a plus:

• Experience with Queues, background processing;
• Experience with REST APIs;
• Able to cover new code with unit tests (test cases, coverage management);
• CI/CD;
• Knowledge of another programming language (GoLang, Python, Java, NodeJS, etc);
• Cloud: GCP, AWS, Digitalocean, Kubernetes/Helm, Istio.
