Sirius Staffing is hiring a Reliability Engineer for a contract opportunity at a global specialty chemicals facility in Chester, PA. This is a hands-on, boots-on-the-ground SME-level role driving reliability best practices, failure investigations, and continuous improvement in a complex manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical background in mechanical equipment and maintenance and is ready to make immediate improvements upon arrival.
What You'll Do
- Serve as the subject matter expert in Reliability and drive adoption of Maintenance & Reliability best practices
- Assess existing failure data and identify weak points to develop and execute immediate corrective action plans
- Develop, implement, and/or improve site Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs
- Design and modify asset care strategies using Risk-based, RCM, and FMEA methods
- Lead equipment failure investigations using root cause analysis, 5-Why, and other analytical techniques
- Identify failure modes across mechanical, electrical, and related disciplines
- Identify and document spare parts requirements to support asset reliability
- Develop and maintain equipment-specific maintenance plans aligned with reliability objectives
- Collaborate with technical resources to resolve chronic equipment problems
- Provide technical guidance to production, engineering, and maintenance teams in support of continuous improvement
- Guide maintenance personnel on precision repair, installation, and maintenance of equipment
- Analyze the cost/benefit of equipment options to meet reliability objectives
- Create and update site procedures to align with industry best practices
What You'll Need:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering required; Chemical or Electrical Engineering candidates MUST have demonstrated mechanical equipment knowledge to be considered
- 5+ years of experience working in a Chemical Plant as a Reliability Engineer
- Strong technical background in mechanical equipment and maintenance is required
- Strong working knowledge of maintenance & reliability best practices and condition monitoring technologies
- Ability to translate assessment data and failure history into actionable maintenance strategies
- Process Safety Management (PSM) experience
- Ability to interpret financial and non-financial data and communicate the economic impact of decisions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills must interface with Manufacturing Directors, Plant Engineers, and Superintendents
- CMRP certification preferred
