Engineer - Senior Principal Engineer (gas System Performance/ GSD)

Technical And Safety Regulation Of Gas System

This role will be responsible for the technical and safety regulation of the gas system which comprises the LNG terminal, onshore receiving facilities, gas transmission and distribution network to ensure the adequate, safe, reliable and secure supply of natural and town gas to consumers in Singapore.

Responsibilities:

1. Establish technical regulatory frameworks and enforce the gas licensee's compliance with regulations, codes of practice and performance standards for a reliable and secure gas supply system;
2. Conduct investigative work for gas supply disruption and gas facilities/equipment/pipelines failure;
3. Assess and conduct audit on licensees' gas safety cases to ensure the risks associated with the activities are kept to as low as reasonably practicable;
4. Conduct system reviews with gas licensees to identify vulnerabilities and mitigating measures to enhance system reliability;
5. Support the review of EMA's crisis management and emergency plans as well as working with gas licensees on their emergency preparedness; and
6. Support the energy transition in the development and subsequent enforcement of technical and safety regulation of low-carbon fuel alternatives.

• Be driven and resourceful, whether working independently or as part of a team. Candidates with relevant experience in infrastructure planning and/or operations to ensure plant safety and reliability will be viewed favourably, although this is not necessary.
