Sales Representative

The Sales Representative is responsible to sell the Meeting, Event and Conference Services (MECS) meeting facilities and services, including meeting rooms, banquet facilities and range of services, to clients to generate revenues in support of MECS; promote MECS to its various target markets; prospect leads, prepare sales contracts and process sales orders; provide facility information to clients and to perform post-event follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction. The role also reviews information regarding market conditions, product and service improvement and price changes, makes recommendations for improvements and adjustments to the sales team, and consults with the team on broad planning objectives and sales direction.

Qualifications include a diploma in business administration, sales or hospitality management and three years of related experience in sales as a sales or marketing representative in the hospitality industry or related setting, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and excellent public relations skills are required. Excellent organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills are also needed. Demonstrated customer service skills, a proven record of sales success, good knowledge of the tourism industry in general, familiarity with sales and marketing language, services and products offered in the industry, and strong team player ability to work under self-initiative are also necessary.
