Marketing Coordinator

This role reports directly to the Marketing Director of the hotel and is responsible for providing administrative and technical support to the Marketing Department, as well as assisting in the execution of the marketing plan.

Key to Success:

  • Maintain close alignment with the hotel's marketing team, including the Manager and Director of Marketing.
  • Successfully execute the tactical elements of the marketing strategy.
  • Have strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks at the same time.

Essential Functions:

  • Marketing Tactical Execution: Work with the DOSM (Director of Sales and Marketing) and DOM (Director of Marketing) in executing marketing messages, positioning, and strategies. Assist in delivering content aligned with brand standards.
  • Content and Materials: Lead the execution and update of all internal and external marketing communications, including (but not limited to): official website (Brand.com), secondary website (when applicable), third-party websites, social media, images, and texts. Work with DOSM to coordinate all marketing photo sessions at the hotel.
  • Digital Marketing: Collaborate with DOSM and DOM in creating and executing digital strategies, attending meetings with agencies. Work with DOM in analyzing digital reports and are responsible for the hotel's Koddi platform (management of Amplify and Elevate campaigns).
  • Social Media: If the hotel does not have a social media agency, this role will be responsible for posting and maintaining social media, ensuring the execution of the plan and posting calendar. If there is an agency, this role assists DOSM and DOM in timely submission of materials to the agency.
  • Reputation Management: Assist in posts and responses to reviews on sites like TripAdvisor, Google, Facebook, Twitter, among others, when necessary.
  • Material and Content Creation: Develop and update small internal design projects, such as sales newsletters, brochures, internal communication materials, and room TV content.
  • Public Relations Support: Coordinate press visits, confirm itineraries, organize hotel tours, and distribute press kits.
  • Administrative Support: Work with the marketing team to prioritize daily activities and support the execution of larger projects. Assist in processing invoices and payments for marketing initiatives. Support requests from complementary areas (such as restaurant or spa), including menu editions, internal materials, and updates.

Support Functions:

  • In addition to the essential functions, this role may perform other complementary activities, according to the needs of the hotel and under the guidance of management, such as:
  • Participate in weekly meetings and other operational meetings.
  • Support special projects designated by management.
  • Execute other tasks requested by management.
  • Maintain good relationships with other departments and colleagues.

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:

  • Required: Fluent reading, writing, and conversation in English, for interaction with guests, clients, and staff. Good knowledge of computer and internet (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). Experience with CMS platforms. Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines. Knowledge of 360° marketing and social media tools.
  • Desired: Knowledge of graphic design and proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma complete (required). Two or four-year college degree (desired), preferably in Marketing or Public Relations.
  • Experience: Previous experience is not required. Previous experience in hospitality or tourism will be considered a plus.
