Your Role:
The Director, Analytics Engineering & BI Architecture / Reporting is a pivotal strategic leader who will define and execute the enterprise BI and reporting architecture, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role encompasses both strategic oversight and hands-on leadership, guiding a team of BI Architects and Analytics Engineers in the design of scalable analytical data models, development of modern cloud-based data layers, and delivery of impactful Tableau dashboards.
The Director will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, data engineering, analytics teams, and IT to ensure that reporting solutions are accurate, scalable, and aligned with the evolving needs of the business. In addition to possessing strong technical expertise in cloud data platforms and Tableau, this role requires exemplary leadership skills, including the ability to manage priorities, influence, coach the team, and represent the reporting function across cross-functional initiatives.
Success in this role necessitates exceptional architectural judgment, robust stakeholder engagement, and the capability to balance immediate delivery with long-term platform strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership
- Lead, develop, inspire, and manage a high-performing team of BI Architects and Analytics Engineers responsible for enterprise reporting and analytics solutions.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and technical guidance to uphold superior engineering and visualization standards.
- Strategically manage team priorities, performance, reporting requests, and resource allocation across diverse business initiatives.
- Define and communicate a clear vision and strategy for the team, aligning team goals with organizational objectives to drive innovation and excellence.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and professional growth by identifying training needs, facilitating skill development, and mentoring team members.
- Implement performance management processes, including regular feedback, performance reviews, and development plans, to ensure team members meet their potential and contribute effectively.
- Guide the team through change initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and maintaining morale during periods of transformation or adaptation.
- Promote a culture of innovation by encouraging team members to explore new technologies, methodologies, and processes that enhance productivity and quality.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure the technical team delivers effective solutions that meet business requirements.
- Provide technical direction and support to the team, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and organizational standards.
Analytics Architecture & Data Modeling
- Define and maintain scalable analytical data models within cloud data platforms such as Redshift and Snowflake.
- Design business transformation logic, semantic layers, and data structures optimized for BI and Tableau performance.
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure data quality, governance, and consistency across the organization.
Tableau Development & Visualization
- Oversee the development of high-quality Tableau dashboards and data products that support critical business and executive decision-making.
- Establish development standards, performance optimization protocols, and visualization best practices.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead requirements discussions, translating business needs into scalable reporting solutions.
- Serve as the reporting team representative in cross-functional meetings and strategic initiatives.
- Manage stakeholder expectations effectively while communicating delivery timelines and priorities.
Platform Ownership
- Own the BI architecture across Redshift, Snowflake, and Tableau platforms.
- Drive the modernization of reporting capabilities and the adoption of emerging technologies, including AI/ML and GenAI, where appropriate.
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Analytics, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in data warehousing, analytics engineering, or BI architecture.
- 5+ years of experience with cloud data platforms such as Redshift, Snowflake, or similar.
- 5+ years of advanced Tableau development experience.
- Strong SQL expertise and proven experience in building scalable analytics solutions.
- Experience in leading or mentoring BI or analytics teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with GenAI applications in analytics or BI environments.
- Proficiency in Python for analytics automation and data workflows.
- Familiarity with AWS services and modern data platforms.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical, life sciences, or regulated industries.
- Tableau certifications and exceptional communication skills.
- Ability to communicate openly and share information to foster trust while encouraging constructive debate, making informed decisions, and ensuring shared commitment to outcomes.
- Demonstrated willingness to take risks and advocate for ethical practices while prioritizing the needs and experiences of customers and patients in all decisions.

Pay Range for this position: $207,600 - 311,400. The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Position may be eligible for sales or performance-based bonuses. Benefits offered by the Company include health insurance, paid time off (PTO), retirement contributions, and other prerequisites.
