EOC Engineer B (Semiskilled) - Full Time
Patient Population: The patient population served can be all patients including geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric, and newborn. This also includes services which affect facility staff, physicians, visitors, vendors and the general public.
Position Summary: Under the direction of the department Leader(s), the EOC Engineer B performs and documents maintenance and minor repairs of Life Safety systems to include but not limited to; Fire Doors, Fire Extinguishers, conducts scheduled Fire Drills, and assists in major repairs or installations to the building and grounds. Must be able to work normal/scheduled working hours to include Holidays, call-backs, weeknights, weekends, and on-call. Agrees to participate, as directed, in emergencies and community disasters during scheduled and unscheduled hours. As a designated disaster service worker you are required to assist in times of need pursuant to the California Emergency Services Act. (Gov't. Code ยงยง 3100, 3102) Needs to recognize that they have an affirmative duty and responsibility for reporting perceived misconduct, including actual or potential violations of laws, regulations, policies, procedures, or this organization's standards/code of conduct. The employee shall work well under pressure, meet multiple and sometimes competing deadlines; and the incumbent shall at all times demonstrate a cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
Education/Training/Experience: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a minimum of 2 years experience as a semi-skilled professional in at least two defined trades, i.e. plumbing, carpentry, electrical and/or HVAC/Mechanical. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, Cal OSHA, NFPA, CA. Titles Joint Commission Standards, operating instructions and procedure manuals.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Licensure/Certifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must maintain a valid CA driver's license and current DMV report, the results of which are within acceptable standards as per SVMC policy as a condition of employment. The employee will also be required, as a condition of employment, to enroll in the DMV Pull Notice program to allow the Hospital to receive notice of any changes in their driving record. The Employee must maintain at least state required limits of liability insurance/evidence of financial responsibility on own vehicles (such limits may not be adequate and employee should consider higher limits for their own protection).
